US Elections -- How do they work?

Published on Oct 24, 2012 by UKParliament : Find out all the basics about US elections in less than five minutes! This introductory video explains how the US President, Senate and House of Representatives are elected, and takes a quick look at the Electoral College system, running mates, campaign finance, and much more along the way.

US Election: A complicated game

This decision will ultimately be made by the voters in battleground states like Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio and here Barack Obama has an edge, although Mitt Romney leads nationally.

This raises once again the possibility of a candidate winning the popular vote but losing the White House by falling short in electoral votes.

911 Dust : was WTC Nuked?

Why Use Nuclear Weapons?
Nuclear weapons, 4th generation or even more advanced weapons, are ideal because they

are extremely small with very predictable profiles. After decades of underground nuclear testing this science has been refined to an extraordinary level of competence.
With nano-technology the various control systems necessary to a nuclear device are infinitesimally smaller than those we’re familiar with from the 1960s.
Advanced nuclear grenades, nuclear weapons the size of apples or grapefruits as Dr. Busby states, are the most secretive technological advancement in real world weapons systems. Nuclear devices as described herein were the only possible way to destroy the buildings without having enormous chunks of building debris fly all over NYC and smash down on dozens of surrounding buildings.
Theses enormous structures had to be turned to dust. Destruction was kept to a minimum although overall it was still quite devastating. It could have been monumentally worse had standard explosives been used:

10 Most Strange Looking Buildings

Written By Amazing Nature on Wednesday, 12 September 2012

1. Dancing Building, Prague, Czech Republic
The ‘Dancing Building’ is a nickname given to Nationale-Nederlanden building that is located in Prague’s downtown. Designed by Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in collaboration with Canadian Frank Gehry the building was completed in 1996. The building was built instead of the one that was destroyed during Bombing of Prague in 1945.

2. The Basket Building (Ohio, United States)
Those crazy Americans! What will they think of next? Next you’ll be telling me they’ve designed a building in the shape of a wicker basket! What? They have? It’s the home of the Longaberger Basket Company, stands at 180,000-square-feet, cost $30 million and took two years to complete? Wow, now I’ve seen everything!

A Statement to Watch out : former Head of Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Former Head of Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Tzachi Hanegbi, hints at timetable for Iran attack.

By Gil Ronen | Sept 6, 2012

Tzachi Hanegbi
Flash 90
"We now stand, in my opinion, before the 50 most fateful days in Israel's history, since perhaps the Yom Kippur War, in which there were also several dozen fateful days."

So said the former Head of Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Tzachi Hanegbi, at a closed meeting of Likud activists in Yafo. A recording of his speech reached daily newspaper Makon Rishon's reporter, Ze'ev Kam.

"The prime minister will have to make decisions that will bear a price tag. Allowing Iranian nuclear weapons has a price tag. The practical result will be a nuclear arms race in the entire Middle East," he explained.

"Today, when we say that we understand the danger of the Iranian threat, andunderstand that a confrontation bears a price, it is because we want to prevent our sons and grandson from paying unbearable prices," he said.

Hanegbi, who left Likud for Kadima and is now back in Likud, called on the activists to support Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and to "allow him quiet" and "strengthen his legitimacy" so that he can take the necessary decisions calmly.

So true, no wonder the 99% are mesmerized?

George Soros, a big buyer of Manchester United shares.

Published on Aug 21, 2012 by Euronews : It turns out billionaire money manager George Soros was a big buyer of shares in football club Manchester United when they went on sale for the first time earlier this month. According to information filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Soros owns two percent of the club.

Has the normally canny investor scored an own goal? The value of the shares has fallen steadily since they first went on sale.Manchester United, which went public on August 9, priced below its expected range amid broad scepticism about the valuation the club's owners wanted. It also made the identity of the eventual shareholders a matter of particular interest for other institutional investors.

The club is owned by the Glazer family, which has interests ranging from shopping malls to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team. Soros was likely drawn to Manchester United because of the team's lucrative media rights deals, said Philip Hall, a partner at New York-based investment bank Inner Circle Sports which has advised on high-profile English Premier League takeovers including Fenway Sports Group's acquisition of Liverpool.

"This could be a play by Soros on the strength of Manchester United's brand and the English Premier League's growing media rights," Hall said. "The domestic rights are set to increase 70 percent for the 2013/2014 season and the international media rights, set to be announced in late October or early November, are also expected to come in at a very robust uplift."

Another analyst, Sam Hamadeh, CEO of research firm PrivCo, was less sure. "This seems like a vanity purchase. The stock was pitched to a lot of high net worth accounts and a lot of those people were interested in the stock for the same reason." He added: "We don't believe Manchester United's shares are worth any more than mid-single digits and there doesn't seem to be any justification for what could eventually drive shares up."

About 30 earthquakes strike in Southern California 'sequence'

A cluster of earthquakes that began Tuesday night continued Wednesday in northern Orange County, keeping residents on edge but causing little significant damage.

Photos emerged of bottles falling off a supermarket shelf in Anaheim Hills, but fire officials said they didn't get reports of anything more serious.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, Kate Hutton of the U.S. Geological Survey at Caltech said there had been at least 30 quakes since last night, but only three could be felt by residents.

"This is all part of the same earthquake sequence; they're all in the same area,'' Hutton told reporters at the briefing, which was televised by several TV stations.

Experts said more aftershocks are likely.

"It shook us pretty good. We’ve felt earthquakes before so it came as no surprise,” said Chris Nordyke, director of marketing at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda. “It shook open the door but nothing fell off the shelves.”

He said an inspection of the facility is underway.

Law enforcement officials in Orange County said there were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake that hit near Yorba Linda about 9:30 a.m. (The Wednesday morning quake was initially downgraded to 4.1 but then upgraded back to 4.5.)

Lt. Santo Porto of the Brea Police Department, which serves that city and Yorba Linda, said police had evacuated the department to check the structure but found no problems. “There’s no damage in either city that we’ve heard so far,” he said.

Orange County sheriff’s officials said they had received no initial damage reports either.

The series of quakes -- including the 4.5 quake Wednesday morning and 4.4 quake Tuesday night -- has rattled residents in the area.

Somalia: The British way of showing confidence!

...British soldiers on the ground 26.07.12

Published on Jul 27, 2012 by BritishForcesNews : The first images of British soldiers working on the ground in Somalia have emerged, raising concerns that their presence could inflame Islamist tensions.

The Times newspaper says two British soldiers in uniform were seen about 20 miles outside their main base in Mogadishu, in an area which was a former al-Shabaab stronghold as recently as May.

One of them appears to be a medic from the Parachute Regiment, and according to the report they were seen patrolling along the edge of a refugee camp, chatting to children and shaking hands.

For a number of years now British troops have been providing training to AMISOM soldiers who then go on to operate in Somalia.

That has been a way of assisting in the fight against militant groups like Al Shabaab in North Africa but without inflaming Islamist tensions by putting British boots on the ground.

The MoD has issued a statement:

"Admitting that a small military support team has deployed to Mogadishu to support AMISOM for six months, which might be extended. They say it complements cross-governmental efforts in support of the British Government's strategy on Somalia."

Back in May,The Department For International Development, United Kingdom (DFID) committed 69 million pounds a year until 2015 to fund aid projects in Somalia, to help stabilise the country, so this deployment could be in support of that.

So these soldiers are probably monitoring what is happening on the ground, gathering information on potential aid projects, and conducting some low level training and advising.

Syria paying price of backing resistance: Opinion Poll

Majority of the respondents to a Press TV survey believe that the main reason behind attacks against Syria is the country’s support for the anti-Israeli resistance front.

The survey, conducted from July 20 to July 29, indicates that nearly 58 percent (7,096 people) of the 12191 participants were of the opinion that as Syria is part of the axis of resistance to Israel, it has been the target of growing attacks.

According to the poll, nearly 27 percent (3,302 people) of the respondents
attributed the escalation of attacks against Damascus to Syria’s independence from the US and its regional allies to .

Nearly 10 percent of those surveyed (1,250 people) said attacks against Syria have recently intensified because the Syrian government does not represent its people.

Meanwhile, 5 percent of those polled (543 people) linked government’s failure to implement political reforms to the recent escalation of unrest in Syria.

It should be mentioned that 21.9 percent of the respondents were from the US, 11.1 percent from Canada, 4.4 percent from England and 62.6 percent from other countries.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.

The Syrian government says outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the driving factor behind the unrest and deadly violence while the opposition accuses the security forces of being behind the killings.

Damascus also says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country and the security forces have been given clear instructions not to harm civilians.

Dear PM, Once more for next budget 2013?

TELAH DI HANTAR SBG MSG DLM FB Mohd Najib Abdul Razak pada 8 July 2012.

Assalamualaikum wrt:
Dato Seri PM & Menteri Kewangan Malaysia.
