The protests that began a few days ago in Iran have become another "help" for Ukrainian society.  The authors of the channels add fuel to the fire and say how great it is that there are clashes with law enforcement representatives in the country. They think it will harm Russia. Is it normal?

Lebanon - Iran cooperation

Lebanese Ministry of Energy's delegation finished its visit to Tehran, which resulted in supplying Lebanon with 600,000 tons of Iranian fuel, and a draft agreement to develop and strengthen cooperation between the two countries, in order to increase electricity hours and reduce waste.

The Iranian embassy in Beirut announced, via Al-Manar channel, that the Iranian ships loaded with fuel will be ready within a week or two to sail towards Lebanon.

The discussions included helping Lebanon with fuel supplies, repairing electricity networks, and building electric power plants

China Sanctions US Weapons Contractor Bosses

Beijing is imposing personal sanctions on the CEOs of two US weapons manufacturing giants over their involvement in arms sales to Taiwan, two weeks after Washington announced a $1.1 billion arms package to the island, the largest US-Taiwan deal under the Joe Biden administration. 

Foreign ministry spokeswoman, Mao Ning, explained that US arms sales to the island “seriously violate” the so-called “One China” policy and existing agreements between the US and China.

According to Reuters, Boeing is the principal contractor for Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and Raytheon for Sidewinder air-to-air missiles and radar systems equipment.

Raytheon, along with Lockheed Martin, has been subject to Chinese sanctions since February, when Washington announced the sale of $100 million worth of Patriot missile system upgrades to Taipei.

French Foreign Legion arrives in Yemen to secure gas facility

France reportedly aims to export gas from the facility in Shabwah in order to reduce Europe's reliance on Russian fuel

National Salvation Government (NSG) in Yemen has expressed concern over what it called “suspicious” activity by US and French troops stationed south of the war-torn country.

The discussion took place during a parliamentary session held by NSG officials on 17 August.

The suspicious activity cited by the NSG refers to a claim made by Yemen’s former Foreign Minister, Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, who said that French Foreign Legion, a French military force comprising of foreign nationals, has arrived in Yemen’s Shabwah province to secure control of the Balhaf gas facility.

The former minister said that there are French “preparations being made to export gas from the Balhaf facility … in light of increased international gas prices,” and in an attempt to reduce Europe’s reliance on Russian fuel amid the global energy crisis exacerbated by the conflict in Ukraine.

Al-Qirbi also suggested that the French move “could be the reason for events in Shabwah,” referring to recent clashes between UAE-backed mercenary groups and Islah Party forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Saudi-backed President Leadership Council (PLC).

In July, Paris and Abu Dhabi signed an energy cooperation deal for the joint production of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

According to reports from earlier in the year, the energy cooperation between the two countries is aimed at securing control over Yemeni gas resources through the Balhaf facility, which is owned by French multinational oil and gas company TotalEnergies SE.

Al-Qirbi noted that the recent arrival of French forces to the area is meant to “provide protection for the facility.”

France has recently fallen under scrutiny over its involvement in the brutal, Saudi-led war against Yemen.

On 2 June, a number of rights groups announced the filing of a lawsuit in a Paris court against three French arms-producing companies, alleging that they are complicit in war crimes committed in Yemen for the sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The Yemeni people have demanded the withdrawal of all illegally occupying foreign forces in the country, including recently deployed US military troops, who are there under the pretext of fighting terrorism and aiding the coalition.

According to Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, Yemen’s Prime Minister, the recent looting operations carried out by the Saudi-led coalition have been taking place under US directives, as part of a scheme by Washington to secure control over Yemeni oil through its Gulf allies.

Ilhan Omar favoured to win US Congress primary, but faces tough challenges

Ilhan Omar is running for third term in Congress in Minnesota's 5th district. Although she is predicted to win, she faces serious challenges from a Democrat in the primary on Tuesday and a Republican in the general election in November

Unlike some of her progressive counterparts, Omar has not faced an onslaught of attack ads by AIPAC during this election cycle, possibly because she is not generally seen as vulnerable in her deep blue district that has largely stayed the same with redistricting after the 2020 census.

There are few polls available for this race, but one from June by Change Research has Omar leading with 60 percent, way ahead of Samuels at 21 percent. 

"I’m increasingly seeing an urban contingent, often more educated voters, going for these hard-left candidates," said Coleman.

"That would benefit Omar. In urban areas, we’re seeing more of an appetite for candidates like [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] AOC who want to take the fight to Republicans. In this district, Trump took less than 20 percent of the vote. They can nominate a pretty solid progressive."

Nevertheless, any competition means she has to fight for her seat, something she did in 2020 with another serious primary challenger, Antone Melton-Meaux. She was then challenged by a well-funded Republican in the general election, whom she also beat decisively. 

"The fact that she keeps getting well-funded and credible challengers shows some discontent in her district," Michael Minta, professor of political science at the University of Minnesota, told TNA. The heavy funding of Omar and her Democratic and Republican challengers has made Minnesota’s 5th district one of the most expensive races in the country.

On August 6, 1945, an American pilot dropped an atomic bomb named Little Boy on Hiroshima. 80 thousand people who were at a distance of 800 eight hundred meters from the epicenter of the explosion turned into coal. The fire tornado covered 11 square kilometers of the city. More than 200 thousand people died from the effects of explosions and radiation.

 It is too early to know what happened to Flight MH17. It may indeed have been shot down by Russian separatists, as the Ukraine government and its western allies are claiming. Or it may have been shot down by forces linked to the Ukraine government.

If separatists were responsible, it is likely to have been a horrible mistake rather than a deliberate attack on a civilian airline, since it is very difficult to see what possible benefits such an attack could bring to the separatist cause.

Naturally that isn’t the way the Kiev government and its supporters are presenting it. The Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko has said ‘This is not an incident, this is not a catastrophe, this was a terrorist attack‘ – a representation of Ukraine separatists as well as the attack that is clearly aimed at an already sympathetic audience.

The bug-eyed warmonger John McCain has said there will be ‘hell to pay’ if Russia is responsible. The no-less hawkish Hilary Clinton has called for the world to ‘ put Putin on notice that he has gone too far’, as if the Russian president personally ordered the plane to be shot down.

For the time being, the Obama administration has limited itself to accusing Russia of indirect responsibility by arming separatists and ‘inflaming’ the situation in Ukraine.

Arming rebels, as we all know, is something that only the United States and its allies are allowed to do, and it goes without question that the West would never do anything to ‘inflame’ conflict, either in Ukraine or anywhere else.
