Iconic trade union Solidarnost still on the march
Published on 26 Sep 2013 | A new film is coming out celebrating the achievements of Poland's Lech Walesa, who led the Solidarity trade union in the 1980s and later became the country's president. But the timing is controversial. Poland recently saw its biggest social protest since the 1980s - dominated once again by the iconic red banner of Solidarity. This came despite the fact that the movement has been disowned by many of its former leaders.
