The videos emerged on the eve of a UN Security Council vote on a fresh round of sanctions over Iran's nuclear programme.

In one, released by Iranian state television, a man said to be Shahram Amiri says he was kidnapped by US intelligence agents during a religious pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, a claim the US has denied.

Bangkok, Thailand (CNN) -- A leader of anti-government protests in Thailand was shot in the head while being interviewed at the demonstrations, according to the journalist who was with him at the time.

Seh Daeng was in critical condition, according to his guards with the Red Shirt protesters.

Video footage taken just after the shooting showed Seh lying on the ground, dressed in camouflage, as frantic protesters attempted to move him and get help. Seh appears to be bleeding from a head wound. Footage from the hospital showed medics covering Seh's face as he was brought in on a stretcher amid a throng of media.

PETALING JAYA, 11 May 2010: A recent two-page spread in the New York Times, costing thousands of US dollars and featuring the prime minister's wife, was placed on behalf of the Malaysian government.

In an e-mail response to questions from The Nut Graph, the New York Times said: "The advertisement was placed by an ad agency on behalf of the Malaysian government."

The response from New York Times executive director of community affairs and media relations, Diane McNulty, reveals that the ad was not placed by private individuals, as suggested by the last line in the ad's congratulatory message.

malaysiakini — May 10, 2010 — Karpal argues that since Saiful had stated the intercourse to be non-consensual, whereas Anwar is charged under Section 377b for consensual sex against the order of nature, there is a conflict between the charge and Saiful's statement.

Karpal says his hunch is based on what the witness had said with regards to the sodomy having been non-consensual.

Investigations, therefore, should have been under section 377c.

High Court Justice Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah says this is the first time that a matter of this nature has come up - the accused is being charged with consensual (sodomy) though the evidence suggests the act was non-consensual.

Aminulrasyids family rejects inquest calls for Royal Commission.

Speaking on behalf of the family on Monday, Aminulrasyid's uncle, Kamarudin Hassan said they hope the commission will conduct a clear and transparent investigation.
