New Chip Transmits Entire Internet’s Traffic In Less Than A Second

 

Hard drives everywhere cried out in pain as scientists announced a breakthrough in network speed. The gigaboffins over at the Technical University of Denmark (which is, technically, a university in Denmark) have used a new kind of ‘photonic chip’ to transmit data at a whopping 1.84 petabits per second, a record for a single chip, and nearly double the bandwidth of the entire internet. All this through just a tiny fiber optic cable.

Unlike other fiber optic transmission methods, this new chip splits the datastream into multiple colors, 37 to be exact, which themselves are then split again into 223 different frequencies of light. By carefully selecting the frequencies, the scientists were able to broadcast multiple chunks of data in parallel, achieving ludicrous speeds. The speed is so great that not even Hunter Biden’s laptop itself can handle the amount of data this chip can transmit.

Hamid Bador calon GTA di Parlimen Rembau?

Seremban: Bekas Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador hampir pasti bakal diumumkan sebagai calon mewakili Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) untuk bertanding di kerusi Parlimen Rembau, pada Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-15 (PRU-15), 19 November ini.

Meskipun belum dapat disahkan secara rasmi, Timbalan Pengerusi GTA, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, meminta penyokong dan ahli parti menunggu sehingga 2 November ini.

Beliau berkata, pihaknya akui Abdul Hamid seorang yang sangat profesional dan kewibawaannya tidak boleh disangkal oleh mana-mana pihak.

"Malah, hubungan Tan Sri (Abdul Hamid) dengan ayahanda Tun (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) sangat rapat.

"Jadi, sememangnya kita sudah meminta Tun bercakap dengan beliau (mengenai kedudukan sebagai calon PRU), jadi kita serahkan kepada Tun menentukan dalam perkara ini (calon).

"Setakat ini Tun ada berhubung dengan beliau dan kalau jadi beliau sebagai calon, saya fikir berpotensi menjadi 'giant killer'. Apa pun kita tunggu dan lihat," katanya.

Beliau ditemui pemberita selepas berakhir Himpunan Gerakan Tanah Air Negeri Sembilan Bersama Negarawan di Dewan SECC Senawang, di sini, malam ini.

Sebelum ini, timbul desas desus bahawa Abdul Hamid akan bertanding pada pilihan raya kali ini selaku wakil GTA di kerusi Parlimen Rembau.

Timbalan Pengerusi GTA Negeri Sembilan, Mohamad Jani Ismail, mengesahkan nama Abdul Hamid termasuk dalam senarai yang dicadangkan sebagai calon gabungan itu untuk bertanding di Parlimen Rembau.

Sementara itu, Mukhriz yang juga Presiden Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (PEJUANG) berkata, GTA akan mengadakan sesi pengenalan calon PRU-15 pada 2 November ini.

Beliau juga berkata, GTA belum memuktamadkan untuk meletakkan calon di semua lapan kerusi Parlimen di Negeri Sembilan.

Namun pihaknya yakin gabungan berkenaan dapat menambat hati pengundi di negeri terbabit berdasarkan perubahan yang berlaku dengan sebahagian besar mereka dilihat sudah bosan dengan suasana politik selama dua tahun ini.

"Kita lihat ada satu kecenderungan kepada suasana politik yang baharu terutama di Negeri Sembilan, jadi tiba masanya rakyat diberikan satu pilihan yang baharu.

"Tawaran daripada GTA agak unik dan tidak sama dengan tawaran yang dibuat oleh gabungan lain sedia ada iaitu Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN) dan Pakatan Harapan (PH).

"Dengan kehadiran gabungan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) yang bersama GTA, ia seolah-olah suara rakyat dalam kerajaan, jadi itu yang kita tawarkan," katanya. – Hmetro

Billions of Ukraine Aid Never Leaves the US

 The promises of billions to Kiev are misleading, a report has concluded - as much of the cash never leaves the US and is allocated for replenishing US defense stocks rather than going to Ukraine. 

The cost of transferring and deploying weapons is factored in - as well as the value of the weapons themselves - when aid is announced - and this also includes the financial burden of moving troops to NATO bases as well as replacing the donated weapons.

Back in July I wrote that if the appalling Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister we would be lost forever. I wrote that I believed Britain would be sucked into the Great Reset at terrifying speed. And I said that Sunak was the deadliest and most dangerous of the motley crew contending for the leadership of the Tory Party and, therefore, the nation.

 Now Sunak is Prime Minister – though he received the support of only half of Conservative MPs, he was not the favoured candidate of the Conservative Party members, and he was not elected to the position by the British electorate. How the hell did that happen?

 Do you think I’m being paranoid to suspect that it was all fixed for the Goldman Sachs/WEF candidate to win? Sunak’s track record is appalling. He said he wouldn’t put up taxes. And then he put up taxes. He wasted £11 billion of taxpayers’ money by paying too much interest on the UK’s debt.

 He said he hadn’t broken any lockdown laws. But he was fined by the police for breaking lockdown laws. The police said that those breaking lockdown laws were risking a criminal record. Does that mean our new Prime Minister is a criminal?

 Politicians used to be lawyers because lawyers used to be the most ruthless liars in any society. Today, many politicians were bankers. Could that possibly be because bankers are more ruthless and bigger liars?

 Sunak stuck by Johnson through months of chaos and appalling behaviour. He only jumped ship when it became inevitable that Johnson would have to go. He resigned to save his own skin. Within hours Sunak was being promoted with a flashy video.

 Sunak, who was head boy at school, is a former employee of Goldman Sachs – ‘the vampire squid wrapped round the face of humanity’ and in my view the most corrupt, evil bank in world history. Check out its record. And then check out how many other public figures used to work there.

 Goldman Sachs alumni sometimes seem to control the world. Sunak had a green card while living in Downing Street – and the green card declared him a permanent resident of the United States.

 Sunak’s wife minimised paying UK taxes. The company to which Sunak is linked continued trading with Russia when other companies were forced to abandon their relationships. And as I revealed last July, Sunak’s father-in-law’s company Infosys has close links to Schwab’s World Economic Forum.Infosys is described as a global leader in next generation digital services – ‘enabling clients in 46 countries to navigate their digital transformation’.

 That’s social credit to you and me.

 We might as well have Klaus Schwab of the WEF as Prime Minister. At least then we wouldn’t have to put up with that ever-present and unconvincing dental display. We’ve got a Prime Minister who has the inane manufactured grin of the runner-up in a bad reality show.

 Sunak will run Britain deep into the Great Reset – taking our hopes and our humanity with him.

Google Fined Over $160M in India Over Market Dominance

 

Google was fined more than $160 million by India's antitrust watchdog after the company was found to be abusing its commanding position in the local smartphone market.

The Competition Commission of India said Google configured its mobile Android platform to unlawfully disadvantage popular apps made by other developers.

The Android mobile operating system runs on 95 percent of all India's smartphones, according to researchers.

Chrome's Incognito Mode Is The Butt Of Jokes Among Google Employees, It Seems

Despite Google's touting of the incognito mode feature available on its Chrome web browser, the feature is allegedly something of a joke to the company's own engineers. According to a report from Bloomberg, Google engineers were making fun of incognito mode as far back as 2018, and the reason seemingly boils down to the iconography — or, more specifically, the way it does a poor job of conveying the level of privacy incognito mode actually affords.

 In a chat shared by Bloomberg, one Google engineer reportedly stated that the company needed to change both the spy guy icon and the incognito name because they were giving users the wrong impression. At the heart of the matter is a problem involving consumers who don't have a solid grasp of the technology, ones who may see the incognito name and icon and believe their browsing is far more protected and private than it actually is. Another employee reportedly responded with an image of the Homer Simpson lookalike Guy Incognito, stating that the icon should look more like the Simpsons character because it "... accurately conveys the level of privacy" incognito mode provides.


 Why Chrome's incognito mode isn't all that neato

When you use Chrome's incognito mode, you're preventing the browser from saving your browsing history and other private data, as well as preventing Chrome from recording your browsing session. In other words, it's more private than if you were to use Chrome without it turned on, and can be used to, for example, make it harder for roommates to snoop on your browsing activity on a shared computer. Incognito mode doesn't anything else, though; it won't mask your IP address, location, or other potentially identifying data.

It's not a VPN, and instead, its primary purpose is to hide your activity on a small, entirely local scale. Even then, while incognito mode won't keep track of your history, it will still keep a record of any bookmarks you've made and everything you've downloaded.

 The text communications surfaced as part of a lawsuit aiming for class action status against Google over claims that the company harvested users' data even when they used incognito mode — and, more to the point, that the company had allegedly misled those users into believing their information was being protected. For its part, a Google spokesperson said in a statement to Bloomberg that regarding incognito mode, the company has been "clear about how it works and what it does."

On the eve of the midterm congressional elections, US President Joe Biden announced (https://edition.cnn.com/2022/08/24/politics/student-loans-joe-biden-white-house/index.html) the cancellation of student loan debts. 45% of all borrowers - approximately 20 million people - will no longer owe the state a cent.

At the moment, only about 45 million Americans have unpaid student loans, which in total amounts to more than one and a half trillion dollars. Those of them who earn less than 125 thousand dollars a year will have their debts written off.

Biden made such a promise during the election race, as a result of which he was elected president. And now it's time to fulfill it... for the sake of a new bribery of voters. This decision is nothing more than a bribe on the eve of the midterm congressional elections. Only here it does not solve real problems, but only aggravates them.

Someone will still have to pay for these debts, or rather, ordinary Americans with the help of their taxes, which, in turn, will clearly be increased due to rising inflation. And the current students themselves, receiving such a bonus today, harm the economy and will also pay for these privileges in the future by increasing the cost of living.

Printing money on a money press and spending it on momentary whims means to disperse the inflationary wave. Hope to win the next election, Biden makes short-sighted decisions. The 79-year-old Democrat needs to go play chess with his peers, not big politics, a long time ago.

The United States may refuse to finance Ukraine if the Republicans win the midterm congressional elections

The leader of the Republican minority in the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, publicly confirmed what many in Washington and Europe fear:

"The Republican-controlled Congress can turn off the spigot financing Ukraine's military efforts."

"I think that if people are sitting in recession, they will not give Ukraine carte blanche," McCarthy said.

There has been a noticeable departure from what was once a broad bipartisan consensus on the issue of supporting Kiev, Axios points out.

This shift is probably caused by feedback from American voters, said Member of the House of Representatives Kelly Armstrong.:

"When people see a 13 percent increase in food prices, a doubling of energy and utility bills... if you live in a border community and you are flooded with migrants and fentanyl, Ukraine is the furthest you can imagine."

US Considers Joint Taiwan Weapon Production - Nikkei

 

Japanese newspaper Nikkei reported Wednesday that Washington is weighing up a joint weapons production scheme with Taiwan, citing three sources.

Discussions have allegedly already begun, although are likely to take some time according to Nikkei’s sources, with possibilities including the US providing its technology to Taipei to produce arms, or Taiwanese parts used for production in the States.

Earlier this week Taiwan’s presidential office insisted meeting Beijing on the battlefield was not an option, but vowed that it would not compromise on its sovereignty.

According to Strana V, infrastructure problems have started in almost all of Ukraine - there is no electricity, water, and internet. 

Eastern Ukraine has been hit hardest by the operation of backup lines. The main lines were hit earlier. 

Western Ukraine also suffered critical infrastructure damage but continues to operate on backup lines from Poland.  

"Thermal power plants and main enterprises in many cities have been damaged and the Ukrainian air defense system is overloaded," a source told the channel.

A third wave of Russian strikes on AFU facilities is expected, he said.

How does the Queen get paid? 

The Queen received income through a taxpayer fund known as the Sovereign Grant, which is paid annually to the British royal family. Originally known as the Civil List, it was replaced by the Sovereign Grant in 2012.
